Recycling Bin Loan Program

Recycling Bin, Cans Only, Bottles Only

With 17 free drop off recycling sites throughout Gallatin County, we try to make recycling accessible to everyone. However, we understand that a lack of bins at events can still make it difficult to divert recyclables from trash bins. You can now borrow recycling bins for your next event for FREE!

Whether you use one bin or all 10, they are FREE and  available to you and your organization. Neighborhood picnics, holiday celebrations, community runs and walks, school activities, business meetings and conferences are just a few examples  of when your organization could use the bins to promote and support recycling efforts. Help us  educate the Gallatin County community about the importance of recycling at your next event.

Recycling Bin Loan Form

Quantity: We have a total of 10 portable Clearstream recycling bins with lids (each has separate sections for aluminum & steel cans, and plastic bottles). Need more bins? Montana Department of Environmental Quality has up to 40 similar bins available: http://deq.mt.gov/Land/Recycle
Usage Guidelines: Guidelines are found on our bin reservation form.
Pick Up: Bins are located at Logan Landfill (10585 Two Dog Rd, Manhattan, MT 59741). Take Exit 283 off I-90 and follow signs for the landfill. If you are unable to pick up bins from Logan during regular business hours, we may be able to assist you. Call 406-582-2493 to ask about delivery.
Assembly: Each bin requires two bags, one for cans and one for bottles. Since these bins are different than those found in most places, we recommend watching this video tutorial. Instructions may also be found in Recycle Montana’s Event Recycling Guide
After your event: Please empty your sorted recyclables at one of our free drop-off recycling sites. Bins are due back the day after your event unless other arrangements are made in advance.

Reservations: Fill out the bin reservation form to request bins for your event.
